Creativity, where imagination and solutions find expression

Pepper & Cinnamon (the spiritual precursor to Studio Plough) grew from an art college portfolio into a freelance gig over the 2010s.
Besides commercial brand work, the now-shuttered design practice often released one personal project a year that pushed the limits of concept, creativity, and expression.
This page showcases a selection of Ben’s earlier creative experiments — from a time when he pursued design craft to its logical zenith. His past is prologue to Studio Plough’s practice today. We do not take on brand expression or design execution work.

An ode to a nation obsessed with eating, #FOOD is a celebration of Singapore’s great culinary heritage. May this serving whet your appetite and grant you visual delight. Dig in!
A tie-up with sister stationery initiative The Little by Little Co., this 20-page zine was published on an inkjet printer using water-resistant pigment ink. The first edition of 50 were hand-numbered.

Roughly translating from French to mean “a sense of place”, Terroir was a bespoke bi-annual magazine from 2011–2013 that sought to collaborate with and showcase Singaporean perspectives on travel — to share with you what various places meant to their authors.
All three issues were printed on-demand with an inkjet printer using water-resistant pigment ink on newsprint paper stock. Various inserts and gatefolds were introduced in the second and third issues.

The smallest things in life tend to leave the deepest impressions. We remember most the tiny bits of joy and out of the blue surprises. These are moments of magic that shape us. Deriving our name from the musical term “poco a poco”, we hope to inject a few crafty surprises into everyday living!
The Little by Little Co. was a vintage-inspired stationery initiative from Singapore that lasted from 2011–2017. It was a constant balance between releasing more designs to drive sales, or making just enough to avoid being frivolous.

In a world overwhelmed by the deluge of content and burgeoning duplicity, The Cue cuts through the clutter to bring you recommendations that are truly worth reading; because only good ideas should prevail.
A ‘book club’ experiment for the digital age between 2018–2019, we aspired to advocate solid books and websites by a rotating retinue of creative individuals for your reading pleasure.
Tablemono was a handsome broadsheet from Fable and Pepper & Cinnamon. The title is a portmanteau of the English word ‘table’ and the Japanese word for ‘object’.
What do the tables of our most respected creatives and entrepreneurs look like? If we took a peek, would it give us an insight into their thinking and processes?
